When the immune system overreacts to specific substances known as allergens, an allergic reaction results. It could be brought on by:

  • Irritants such as cigarette smoke, perfumes, and diesel exhaust
  • Hidden food sensitivities
  • Contact with pollens from grass, trees, and weeds in the outdoors
  • Contact with dust particles, pet hair, and mould indoors

  • Awkward Palate
  • Sleep Breathing Issues
  • Diagnosis:

The Indications and Symptoms found during a Physical Examination serve as the basis for the Diagnosis. In order to confirm the Diagnosis, more Tests are Carried Out.

    USUAL

  • Test on a skin prick
  • The allergen is discovered by applying various substances to the skin and seeing how the body responds to them
  • ONLY VERY RARELY

  • Blood Tryptase
  • Finds the blood's allergy-specific antibodies. Typically requested when a skin test cannot be performed
  • Narcotic Cytology
  • Aids in separating allergic rhinitis from infection-related rhinitis
  • Treatments

The best course of action would be to identify and stay away from the allergens responsible for the symptoms. If it cannot be completely avoided, precautions should be taken to reduce exposure.

    MEDICATION

    Corticosteroid nasal spray

  • Used to treat itchiness and inflammation. offered as sprays. Fluticasone propionate, triamcinolone, mometasone, and budesonide are common medications.
  • Antihistamines are administered as pills to reduce the allergic reaction. Common medicines include fexofenadine, loratadine, and cetirizine.
  • THERAPY

    Immunotherapy

For the treatment of severe allergies. Based on the findings of the blood test, regular injection shots are administered so that the body can develop an immunity to the necessary allergens. The most popular forms are two. 1) Oral immunotherapy 2) Topical immunotherapy

    Complications

Following daily routines may be difficult in some extreme circumstances, such as:

  • Sleep disturbances
  • Snoring problems
  • Asthma risk
  • Prolonged rhinitis may result in sinusitis
  • Prevention

  • Keep the bedspread and pillowcases clean
  • Sleep with the windows closed to prevent early-morning pollens
  • Avoid contact with allergens
  • Wear a mask while going outside, especially in the spring and fall
  • Nutrition

    EATING FOODS AND AVOIDING FOODS

    Foods to eat include:

  • Consume onions, peppers, berries, and parsley as they reduce allergic symptoms
